During this past week, I was asked by a student organization to partake in a protest against our new president's ideas. It involved me getting out of class at 1230 and joining a mob of students that would do the same and march around downtown Athens... Their priority was to get as many diverse faces as possible. The girl that came up to me basically told me that because I was of color, I should join this event and fight for something I may or may not believe in.I did not think skipping class would have benefited me in this situation.
